The Scanlan Project - LEED in Santa Fe, New Mexico

About the Project
The Scanlan Project is located in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains about 1 1/2 miles north of the historic Santa Fe Plaza. Wilson and Jenna Scanlan purchased the 5 acre lot in 2004. The house which was previously there contained asbestos in the pipe insulation, floor tiles, roof flashing mastic, roof tiles and exterior stucco which was inspected by CERL Inc. Environmental Consultants. It was completely removed in November of 2004 by Rios Excavation and transported to a certified asbestos waste disposal site by Southwest Abatement, Inc.

The new residence is to be constructed over previous footprint of the home and driveway so as to not disturb the existing older vegetation. There were some non-native plants in the driveway area which were removed and mulched to provide nutrients for the existing trees.
